Molly the assitance dog has been awarded the PDSA Order of Merit, which is equivalent to the OBE.
Molly is a DogAID assitance dog for Lucy Watts MBE, who suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a life-limiting genetic connective tissue disorders which leaves her in chronic pain, and often feels withdrawn and isolated.
Molly helps Lucy not only with physical tasks, like picking things up, helping Lucy get undressed, fetching the post and loading the washing machine. She also help Lucy in one of the most essential ways, which is by providing mental and emotional support. Without Molly, Lucy would feel very isolated and not want to leave her house. Molly truly is Lucy’s lifeline and now she has been recognised for all her hard and devoted work.
