Welcome to Canine Paradise!
I hope you find our website informative and that you find what you need.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a fully qualified and professional Companion Animal Behaviourist with over 16 years of experience. My degree is in Zoology and I also obtained a postgraduate diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour and Counselling from the University of Southampton. So, you know you and your dog will be in good, professional and knowledgeable hands.
I have seen and helped hundreds of clients, whom may have had a few issues with their dogs, or just wanted to have a well-mannered and sociable dog. All my training is purely reward-based, ensuring that you and your dog are in a positive and effective learning environment. Most of all, my aim is to give you the knowledge so that you can both have many, many years of fun together.
I am Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme judge, a ScentWork UK judge and an assistance dog trainer for DogA.I.D
I work under veterinary referral for behavioural consultations, ensuring that you and your dog are being fully supported by professionals and that any medical concerns are being dealt with or excluded before we can tackle any underlying behavioural issues.
I strongly believe that training your puppy from day one is imperative to avoiding any future problems and heartache. Puppies are very impressionable when they are young and therefore what they learn when they are puppies will stick for life. Learning good manners from day one will make your and your dog’s life much easier. Plus, all our classes are based on fun and effective exercises, ensuring you and your dog are always in a mood to learn. Come join us and see!
I have two flatcoated retrievers, both of which I love doing gundog training with. It never ceases to amaze me the natural talent dogs have. In the past, I have had Huskies, Great Danes, Poodles, Weimeraners and St Bernard’s, so I am well aware of the challenges other breeds bring!
Classes are held in Deddington, Oxfordshire : 15-20 minutes from Banbury, Bicester, Brackley, Kiddlington, Chipping Norton and 30 minutes from Oxford.
Our behavioural consultations are usually held in your home (within a 10 mile radius of Deddington), to ensure a holistic approach is undertaken.
I hope there is something we can offer you and your dog and we look forward to hearing from you in due time.
Best wishes,
Patty
